I wrote different events from the book on notecards and placed them around the school. The kids went on a treasure hunt to collect all of the cards. When they returned to the classroom, their job was to piece the story back together. sounds like fun, right?

Working with 3-addends is a great way to get some math fact practice in and check to see which strategies your students are using. This Cup of Cocoa freebie includes 8 problems where students find the sum and 8 problems where students find a missing addend. I have also included tips to help support students by using number lines with clothespins as well as 20-frame cards. This resource can be used during small group time, in a center, or set up as a roam the room activity.
