Magic Tree House Passport: Become a Tree House Traveler

Kids love the Magic Tree House series! Now your students can track their reading adventures through time and space with this Magic Tree House Passport booklet.

This book series follows Jack and Annie (brother and sister), who discover a magical tree house filled with books. Their adventures all started when Jack and Annie found a book about dinosaurs inside the tree house and were taken back to prehistoric times. After that, Jack and Annie traveled to many different places around the world – and even into outer space! If your students have enjoyed taking these adventures with Jack and Annie, they will love becoming a Tree House Traveler!

PREPARING THE MAGIC TREE HOUSE PASSPORT BOOKLETS

To become a Tree House Traveler, your students will begin with a Magic Tree House Passport. The booklets come in two sizes. The original size is created by printing four pages back-to-back. The smaller size is created by printing two pages back-to-back. Each booklet has four different cover options. Print these pages in color or black and white.

To get the booklets ready, you will need to print the pages back-to-back. The black and white cover option works well with colored paper. After printing back-to-back, you will cut, stack, fold, and staple the booklets. 

Students will also need passport stamps to go with each book in the original Magic Tree House series. I have included several options to choose from. You can print all of the passport stamps on two pages (one stamp for each of the 36 books in the original Magic Tree House series). This option works well for students reading the series independently or for small groups.

You can also print one full-page of stamps to go with each book in the series. This option works well if you are reading the series aloud to your whole class.

Another option is to print the passport stamps in black and white and have the students color them in.

WAYS TO USE THE MAGIC TREE HOUSE PASSPORT

There are a few ways you can use these Tree House Traveler booklets with your students.

WHOLE CLASS

For younger students, teachers may choose to read the books aloud to students. After finishing one of the books, print out a full sheet of the matching passport stamps. Then cut out and give one stamp to each student. Students can glue the stamp over the matching book number in the passport booklet. For example, Dinosaurs Before Dark is book #1 in the series, so the dinosaur stamp goes on top of the #1 in the passport booklet.

SMALL GROUP OR INDEPENDENT READING

For second or third grade students, the Magic Tree House series can be read independently or with your book clubs or small groups. You can print out a set of passport stamps for each student. As a student finishes a book in the series, they can cut out the matching stamp and glue it on top of the corresponding number in the passport booklet.

Your Tree House Travelers will not only enjoy reading the Magic Tree House series, but they will have a small booklet to help remind them of all of the adventures they went on with Jack and Annie!
