Kids love word searches! Not only do they give the brain a workout, but they encourage problem solving, help with spelling, and boost the working memory. Over the years, I have used online word search generators, but I have never been happy with the overall appearance. When I make my own, I can get the puzzle to look exactly the way I want, but it takes time. Could there be a way to combine the two? Yes, there is! This word search maker allows you to create a variety of puzzles for your own list of words. Create word search puzzles for student names, holidays, spelling lists, vocabulary words, and more! Let me show you how it works.
WORD SEARCH MAKER
This editable PDF requires just a few simple steps. You can enter up to 36 words, but you don’t have to use all of the spaces. After entering your word list, you get to choose the level of difficulty for your students. This determines how words are placed in the puzzle (horizontally, vertically, diagonally, forwards, backwards, etc.). This is a great way to differentiate for your students. Finally, you get to select the clipart image that appears next to your puzzle. Don’t worry, an answer key will generate, too!
