Many students are familiar with the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, but they might not know different versions of this story that provide an unexpected twist. Here are some of my favorite versions of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Not only can these books be read for fun, but they are also great for comparing and contrasting two or more texts.

DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS

Here are some of my favorite versions of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Not only can these books be read for fun, but they are also great for comparing and contrasting two or more texts.

Snow White (Little Golden Book)

Now new and old fans can relive the magic of Walt Disney’s classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs as it is retold in a beautiful full-color Little Golden Book!

Snow White and the 77 Dwarfs

Snow White is on the run from an evil witch when she comes across some dwarfs in the forest. They agree to take her in and keep her safe if she will help them with their chores. She soon realizes she’s taking on a lot more than she bargained for. 77 breakfasts to make, 77 lunches to pack (don’t forget the juice boxes!), 77 pairs of pants to mend and a whole lot of dishes. Eventually Snow White decides to take her chances with the witch. There’s a surprise ending… well, it may not be so surprising. This is a hilarious retelling of the classic tale, with bright, energetic illustrations featuring busy dwarfs, and the even busier Snow White.

Seriously, Snow White was SO Forgetful!

There are two sides to every story sometimes seven! In this new spin on the classic story Snow White, the dwarves explain, from their point of view, how a sweet-natured but very forgetful, dizzy girl stumbles upon their cottage and turns their lives upside-down. Snow Pony and the Seven Miniature Ponies

Since most of your students are probably familiar with the original version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, comparing and contrasting different versions is a natural next step in the process. Students can note the similarities and differences between the characters, setting, plot, and illustrations.
