Winter Writing Crafts

Hot Cocoa Craft

When the temperatures drop, warm up to winter with this hot cocoa craft. The cup opens up to reveal a piece of student writing. Students can mix and match the template colors and sayings to create the perfect mug for them.

Each craft includes writing templates. You can choose between handwriting lines or standard lines. Because these crafts can be made into booklets, students can add more than one writing page, if needed.

Mittens Craft

Are your students smitten about winter? Let them share their favorite things about the season with this mittens craft. Students can easily add a piece of writing behind the mittens. Then place the crafts on display for others to enjoy!

Attach student writing behind each mitten. When you lift the mitten string, the writing is revealed. Or, if you are allowed to hang crafts from the ceiling, glue student writing to the back side of these mittens and put them on display for everyone to enjoy.

Winter Hat Craft

Warm up to winter with this fun hat craft. Students can mix and match the templates to create the perfect hat for them. You can even add writing inside the hat to make a fun hallway display.

As the temperatures drop outside students can capture their favorite things about the season with this winter hat craft. The hat opens up to reveal a piece of writing. Print the templates on a variety of your favorite winter colors to create a colorful bulletin board display.

Sledding Craft

Students will love sharing about their favorite winter adventures with this sledding craft. The sled opens up to reveal student writing. These would look great on a hallway display!

This sledding kid craft has the most pieces to put together, but it’s one of my favorites! The sled lifts up to reveal a piece of writing and would look great on a bulletin board.

Penguin Craft

Add a little more fun to your penguin unit with this craft. Students can add several pages of writing to the penguin's tummy to create a booklet. These would make a great bulletin board display all winter long.

Many teachers do a penguin unit in winter, so I included this penguin craft. If you want to pair this craft with a penguin book, here are some of my favorite penguin books for kids.

Polar Bear Craft

Add a little more fun to your polar bear unit with this craft. This page topper can be added to a piece of writing for a fun winter bulletin board display.

This polar bear writing craft is a page topper rather than a craft booklet. However, if students have several pages of writing, staple the pages together near the top center before attaching the paws and head to the first page. If you want to combine this polar bear craft with a book, here are some great books about polar bears.
