Fergus and Zeke and the Field Day Challenge
by Kate Messner
Fergus and Zeke love being the class pets in Miss Maxwell’s classroom. From science experiments to art projects, they do everything the students do. But on Field Day, none of the events are the right size for the small mice — the limbo is too easy, the high jump is too hard, and kickball is absolutely terrifying! So Fergus and Zeke create their own Field Day Challenge, with mouse-size tug-of-war, acorn throwing, and Hula-Hooping. After all the fun and exercise, it’s time to go back to the classroom — but Fergus and Zeke are locked out! Will they be able to use their new skills to get inside in time for ice pops?

Will Mia and her parents be able to come out on top or will the whole day end up in a major family fiasco? This is book 9 of the Mia Mayhem series.
Clifford’s Field Day
by Norman Bridwell
Clifford comes along with Emily Elizabeth for Field Day at school. The big red dog bounces through the sack race, tries to jump over the hurdles in one leap, and even helps Emily Elizabeth win a tug-of-war. But when the coach tells Clifford that he is too big to play, Clifford finds a way to win our hearts, instead of a medal!
Maisy’s Field Day
by Lucy Cousins
Join Maisy and her pals for Field Day! First is the egg-and-spoon race (oops, Eddie’s egg is a little too wobbly). No problem, there are lots more games to play — a wheelbarrow race, a three-legged race, and even a get-dressed-up-silly race. When it’s time to play ringtoss, Eddie’s trunk comes in handy, and in the relay race, Maisy and Charley run as fast as they can. Last of all comes a great big game of tug-of-war, where both teams fall down laughing at the end!
The Big Cheese
by Jory John
The Big Cheese is the best at everything, and brags about it, too. When the annual Cheese-cathlon comes around, the Big Cheese is prepared to win, as always. But what happens when the quiet new kid, Wedge Wedgeman, comes out on top? Is a slice of humility all the Big Cheese needs to discover that some things are better than being the best?
